Almora is famous for its temples, beautiful architecture and climate. Most of the famous locations in Kumoan Hills are just few hours of car journey.

Chitai Mandir

The Chitai Golu Devta temple is the most celebrated temple dedicated to the deity and is about 6 KMs from the main gate of Binsar wildlife sanctuary & about 8 km  from Almora

Gairar Dev Mandir

The Dana Golu devata Gairar, temple is about 2 km from the main gate of Binsar wildlife sanctuary & about 15 km. from Almora.

Jageshwar

Jageshwar is a Hindu pilgrimage town and one of the Dhams in the Shaivism tradition. The site is protected under Indian laws, and managed by the  ASI.

Katarmal Sun Temple

Katarmal is known for a relatively rare Sun temple, constructed  in the 9th century CE. The temple, which holds other carvings on walls and panels, was declared a monument of national importance under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act of 1958.

Almora is strgitically located and in the center of most beautiful towns of Kamoun Hills. These locations are between 30 minutes to 3 Hrs drive through car.

Nanital

Nainital is a popular hill station in Uttarakhand in the Kumaon foothills of the outer Himalayas. It is set in a valley containing a mango-shaped lake, approximately two miles in circumference, and surrounded by mountainscircumference, and surrounded by mountains.

Kausani

It is famous for its scenic splendor and its spectacular 300 km-wide panoramic view of Himalayan peaks like Trisul, Nanda Devi and Panchchuli. Mahatma Gandhi called this place the 'Switzerland of India' due to similarity in landscapes.

Ranikhet

Ranikhet, which means Queen's meadow in Hindi. Ranikhet is famous for   one of the highest golf courses of Asia.  It becomes very cold in the winters and remains moderate in summers, and is best enjoyed from March to October. 

Binsar

Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the Himalayas on top of the Jhandi Dhar hills. It is about 31 km north of the Almora. 

You can see the Himalayan peaks like Kedarnath Peak, Shivling, Trisul and Nanda Devi from a place called Zero Point.

Bhimtal

The major attraction in Bhimtal is the Bhimtal Lake, which has an island at its centre.


The climate of Bhimtal is pleasant and salubrious during summers but very cold during winters.
